My baby is 6 weeks old and I'm eagerly waiting for that first real smile (not the gas-induced ones!). When did your little ones start smiling socially? I can't wait to see it!
Every baby is different, so what works for one might not work for another. Don't get discouraged!
Try doing it on your chest while you're lying down! My baby tolerated that way better than on the floor. Or roll up a towel and put it under their armpits for support.
